So, here it is - the first post on the blog created by a German
Chelsea fan who will be looking at the lighter and perhaps even comical
factors surrounding the club. I guess the fact a German wanting to be
funny alone strikes as unusual - perhaps not even possible, However,
please don't stop reading here.
I love Chelsea FC since I first
visited the Bridge many years ago. It was in Summer 1996, home against
Newcastle when I experienced a live football match for the first time.
The match ended a draw, we were mid table and happy with live in the
Europa League. Much has happened since and Chelsea has gone a long way.
For the past 10 years we have had an Italian owner from Rome (Abramovich),
who has put millions into a club since the takeover and in the perhaps
most unlikely of seasons achieved his holy grail - Champions League
Champions 2012.
The blog will look at different factors
surrounding the club and look at stories from the past and present -
from the Italian connection Zola, Vialli and Co, to John Terry -
Captain, Leader, Legend (known by non Chelsea fans as Racist and
Teammate Wife Shagger), Ashley Cole - best left back in the world (known
by non Chelsea fans as air rifle shooter, cheater and rat) and our
favourite number 1, Peter Cech, who I will refer to as "Helmet" from
now.
Perhaps Chelsea today is the most opinion splitting club of
all - love them or hate them. Seemingly there is no inbetween -
something that has been worked on ever since Romans takeover.
All
very boring and factual up to now, but this should only set the light
on the blog and articles to come, kind of the scene setter and
introduction all in one. I hope the blog will be as enjoyable as
possible and comments are more than welcome.
